sports and youth program collage The City of Sacramento, Access Leisure offers a variety of adapted sports programs such as wheelchair basketball, wheelchair softball, power soccer, Access Aquatics and even a cheerleading team. We also offer you information on where you can participate in wheelchair tennis, adapted waterskiing, white water rafting, dance, drama, the arts, adapted downhill or cross country snow skiing, and adapted weight training for adults. Access Leisure is honored to have been chosen as one of BlazeSports America’s new clubs. This affiliation gives our program access to regional and national events for youth teens and adults with physical disabilities as well as connections to Paralympians to attend our sports events as coaches and speakers. We will also receive one free sport wheelchair every year and some funding/grants for our sports camps and special sporting events for people with physical disabilities. Social & Fitness Programs for Teens and Adults
with Developmental Disabilities

The City of Sacramento, Access Leisure, offers social activities for teens and adults with developmental disabilities such as themed dances and community outings. Fitness programs include a walking program, bocce, softball, basketball, bowling, swimming, and an annual track & field meet.

River Cats Independence Field is a fully-accessible baseball field made of a rubberized surface ideal for players with disabilities that use either manual or power wheelchairs, walkers, crutches, or no assistive devices, to "Play Ball"! Join one of our new baseball leagues for youth with either physical or mental disabilities, our new wheelchair softball league for youth, our power baseball league for youth that use electric powered wheelchairs, or one of our adult leagues for people with disabilities. Pannell Meadowview Recreational Pool

The Samuel C. Pannell Meadowview Community Center Pool is open February through October. The pool is fully accessible and includes on-site changing rooms. "Aqua Chairs" are available for people that use wheelchairs to transfer into to make entering and exiting the pool a breeze. The pool has a beach (zero) entry. The pool is heated to 80 degrees. There is ample free parking.

For those that would like to enjoy one of our pools independently, lifts are also available at Clunie, Doyle, Natomas High School, Oki, and Southside pools.

Access Aquatics classes are available at Clunie, Oki, and Doyle pools.

The Sacramento Lightning is a Sled Hockey team open to people of all abilities that practices and plays in Roseville, CA. at the Skatetown Ice Arena. Practices are Sundays at 8:15-9:15am.
